Toskánská chlebová polévka (Tuscan-style bread soup)

Once I was in a mood for a soup and had a lot of vegetables in a fridge and 3-day stale bread... 
Well, I put almost everything I found at home into one pot and guess what - tasty evening soup was born :-)
We ate simmilar soup in Tuscany and I loved it. It was full of vegetables, crumbled bread and it was so thick that a spoon could stand in it.


Here is my recipe:
spring onions
carrots
tomatoes
red paprika
cabbage
chicken consommé
salt, pepper
crumbled bread
herbs from garden - oregano, thyme...

What I missed in my soup were beans. They definitely should be there.
